Revolutionary Synthetic Oil Removes Engine Deposits and Improve MPGs
New technology has produced a full synthetic engine oil that repairs your engine by removing deposits and extending its life. New Restore & Protect Premium Full Synthetic is the biggest breakthrough in motor oil from Valvoline. This is obviously not true for everyone but the conversation has started and an unscientific survey shows some...

    Psst! Pssst! Hey! Save your money and instead, just change your oil every 3000 miles. Your engine will clean itself. Save you money in the long run. Use cheap oil when you change. Fresh oil is what you want to have your motor last a long time.

    Old engines shouldn’t use any synthetic oil.. unless you want leaks all over it.. tge rubber compounds of seals etc.. aren’t adequate to the smaller molecules in the synthetic.. 96& up motors are the proper applications for synthetic oils.. but earlier then that.. My problems with G60 is the dashboard+center console screen board seems like a very lazy design. Also, the front kidney grill looks like Lego. I like BMW's typical kidney grill design, but this is just different. They wanted to emulate the air vent with drawn lines.😓 The side looks like a Toyota altis with the extra triangle at the end. With the blackened package it'd be even worse. What's worse, BMW's offering a 7-series interior and overall size (short 7-series), but they have to put a "5" on the side. Why...... And why ditch tradition BMW side design they've been using forever...? I prefer G30 by a mile. Especially now that I know it uses the same engine.

      Plenty of people have now tested that and found different results. Even conventional oil lasts a lot longer than advertised but these conventional oils can absolutely last as long as advertised. It also depends on your engine. These smaller engines that run hotter these days tend to burn and foul oil quicker.

OIL is OIL without it the engine will wear out faster . My Engine has 180,000 miles on it and still as strong as it was in 2015.

    • @cc-tb3st
      @cc-tb3st 21 годину тому

      Oil is not oil. Oil has different flash points which can create carbon deposits around the rings causing early wear in the cylinders resulting in blow-by and premature engine failure. Oil also contains additives that serve multiple purposes. Reduce friction, clean buildup and reduce acidity and deal with contamination like fuel or soot to name a few. Friction reducers can be acidic and have low flash points so to much of the wrong type will cause wear. Detergents have the same problem. Then you have the shape of the oil molecules. The more refined or synthetic they are the more round and uniform the oil molecules are increases lubrication properties reducing wear without potentially acidic, low flashpoint additives. This shows for more detergent and contamination additives. So oil is oil is so wrong. If you do oil changes every 3k to 5k miles with the oil off the shelf at Wal Mart will your engine make 200k? Sure. I have multiple cars from the 90s with 300k that never had an engine problem and never saw any synthetic oil. But they also never went 5k miles without an oil change and rarely much over 3k miles. My Prius I use for Uber get an oil change the 1st of every month. Usually 8k to 12k miles. I would never do that with conventional oil.

If you should need any Warranty Coverage, GM might not appreciate you not using a "Recommended" Dexos rated Oil, etc... If you read Valvoline's FAQ about Restore and Protect... They are suggesting for Users that want/need a Dexos rated Oil to use Valvoline Advanced (which is Dexos rated). Otherwise, Valvoline is claiming Restore and Protect is its best Oil option. For applications calling for API SP/GF6A and prior classifications. For my 2014 GMC Terrain (113K miles) it is long out of Warranty... And would have been recommended to use Dexos (Gen 1, 2010-2015). While API SN+ and SP are catching up to Dexos (Gen 2 and Gen 3)... Dexos Gen 3 still has an edge on several fronts. So if you are planning to continue using the Manual's recommended Time/Miles/OLM... You may want to stay with a Dexos rated option. Alternatively, see what your manual/dealership suggests about using non Dexos Oils. They might suggest using a specific Change Interval? For example my Terrain's OLM "allows" 6-8K miles before it considers the Oil Life to be nearing 0% and warn to change.... But because of Fuel Dilution (5%) issues (Shorter Trips, Stop and Go, excess idling) its Oil (a 5W30, Dexos Gen3) was already "due" at just (3,000 miles/8 months) 54% Oil Life Remaining... I'll be trying Restore and Protect in my 2003 Saturn ION (which doesn't have a Dexos requirement, just API SL or better) first, when I have a handle on my Terrain's Fuel Dilution (and have a baseline on any wear numbers I'll feel more comfortable "experimenting" with the "new" engine and not risk unforseen failures because the GM engine "needs" something specified by Dexos but not (so much) by API SP...

    Coach very interesting video, our three Good Year repair shops were Valvoline users. One of my older customers in the early eighties gave me a Valvoline 18k tie clasp with the logo and 100 year Valvoline anniversary from 1864 to 1964 which I still have. Valvoline has always been a good oil brand. With other oils a person needs to be mind full of the word blend, I believe it can be as low as 18% synthetic, I always recommended full synthetic for the small difference in price compared to the much better benefit especially here in Florida with the high humidity. Thanks to Mike Warholic.

      Full synthetic doesn't mean 100% synthetic. It means highly refined minimum 20% synthetic. Amsoil is the only 100% synthetic oil. I just tried Royal Purple for the first time from Mobile 1 on a 238,000 Mile 2022 Prius Prime I use to do Uber. It made a huge difference in engine noise. I'm going to do amsoil soon but I'm very happy with Royal Purple. I thought I was happy with Mobil 1. Been lifelong customer but the change in the sound of the engine is crazy. I used to get complements from passengers about how quite the engine was when it was running. That stopped around 180,000 miles. 2nd day on Royal Purple and I got a complement from a passenger at 237,000 miles.

      @@cc-tb3st Actually, Amsoil is not 100% synthetic. It's a marketing term used. Ford Boss man had an oil analysis done on the Signature series and it wasn't 100% synthetic. It doesn't matter if it says full synthetic or 100% synthetic. It's just a marketing term used. I am not saying Amsoil isn't good but it costs a lot more money than the other major brands.

    I will ignore this, laughing hysterically as I drive down the road with my middle finger raised on high.

    You need to mention broken odometers. When you test drive a car, see if the odometer changes. If the Carfax report has the same milage, the odometer is broken and you can make a guess when it broke. Some vehicles are prone to this failure and the sales people do not check for it. The car becomes an auction car at that point and you can negotiate appropriately since you would be their only buyer.
